2016 Angullong Crossing Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

For over 65 years the Crossing family have farmed the Angullong property, which sits in the foothills of Mount Canobolas in the cool highlands of Orange. The Angullong Crossing Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents the best parcels of Cabernet from the vineyard.

This is an intensively flavoured Cabernet, indicative of its Reserve status. Sweet, complex fruit flavours with a tight structure. The cool climate varietal flavours are balanced beautifully. The length is long and velvety with the oak and dusty tannins adding complex layers. Enjoy this wine now, or cellar it confidently up until 2030.

95 POINTS, “It is sweetly fruited and richly expressed on the nose showing crème de cassis, spiced cherry, vanilla, hazelnut and mixed spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is plump and silky. Wonderfully wrapped in fine-grained tannins the wine is classically structured and immensely drinkable at the same time.”
Wine Orbit, Sept 2019

, “Brick red hue. Leather with wood ashes, plums and raspberries with hazelnut and charred wood notes on the palate. Full bodied, with a long length.”

“Super wine… Incredible complexity. Red fruit builds to savoury spice, wrapped up in firm tannin and juiciness.” National Liquor News, Apr 2019

90 POINTS “Deep red colour with both purple and brick tinges. The bouquet also shows some bottle-age, showing earthy, savoury, dusty nuances and oaky undercurrents. It’s rich and fleshy, smooth and supple, with liberal use of oak and some development starting to re-shape the flavour profile. Good drinking and has a future.” Huon Hooke, May 2019
