90 POINTS, Huon Hooke. // With cooler than average temperatures through spring and early summer, vine growth and bunch development were delayed. Harvest was later, working out well for the aromatic white varieties as they ripened consistently during autumn, which is characteristic of the Orange region. The resulting Angullong Pinot Grigio is a vibrant and crisp wine with cool climate varietal flavours of pear, honey and melon with linear acidity and lovely balance. It is a wine for all occasions.
“90 POINTS Pale coppery pink. The aroma is light and fresh, with some rose petal notes and dried flowers. The wine is restrained and delicate but has intensity, refinement and tension on the palate. Good drinking.” Huon Hooke, The Real Review
“While chardonnay is hailed as Orange’s gun white variety, this booming coolclimate region offers lots of other treats such as pinot grigio. Crammed with vibrant pear-melon flavours and exuding waves of crisp and palate enriching characters, its pure, fresh style guarantees a most satisfying experience.” Sunday Telegraph, John Fordham, Mar 2019
“This current Pinot Grigio release from Ben Crossing’s Angullong team reflects its elevated cool country origins. Its blush appearance and floral aromatic high notes set the taste buds & drool factor tingling in anticipation. Primary fruit delivery in the bosc pear / quince range is well supported by natural crisp zingy acid. Its mid-palate is grippy yet fulsome and savoury. It is a “happy” wine which ticks all the buttons of freshness and palate pleasure. The well-camouflaged 13.5% Alc entices to yet another tipple..hence the “happy” tag. This vibrant & refreshing Angullong Pinot Grigio is well priced and good value.,” The Grape Hunter, 2019
“With this release the Crossing family celebrates 21 years of growing grapes above the Belubula River in the Orange district. It’s a crisp, racy dry white with plenty of natural acidity and is a great match for half a dozen freshly opened Sydney rock oysters.” Global Travel News, John Rozentals.
“…There wouldn’t be many unhappy punters in the crowd if you poured this for them on a warm sunny afternoon.” Words from a Wineglass, Feb 2019
