2018 Angullong Shiraz

“Typically of cool climate shiraz, the Angullong has a spicy and peppercorn nose but oozes ripe blackberries and mulberries through the middle, with perhaps a slightly herbaceous edge. There’s lovely balance and some gentle acids and fine tannins to round out a lingering conclusion. But be warned; before you know it, you’ll find yourself raising the glass to take another sip. Superb!”  Travis Schultz, Sept 2019

Cooler climate Shiraz tends to display more spice and pepper compared to that of the warmer regions. Our 2017 Angullong Shiraz is exactly that. It is a flavoursome wine with ripe dark forest berry flavours with a spicy complexity and lingering smooth tannins. The is a wine to enjoy now, or let mature in the bottle over the next five or so years.

92 POINTS  “Red licorice, a tease of bunch-spice and a lovely mix of red and purple berries – oak is very quiet. A gentle roll of sweet fruit leads a supple and balanced cool-climate style. Tannins perfectly integrated. Exceptional value.”
