Angullong welcomes back artisan small goods maker Stephan Burmilli for a sausage making masterclass. Afterwards enjoy a delicious lunch with Angullong wines and winegrower Ben Crossing.

Rudolf Birmili (Rudi), his wife Hilde and children Elke and Stefan, migrated from the southern German city of Stuttgart in 1981 whereupon Rudi worked as a smallgoods maker in various places but never satisfied with the quality and recipes that he was being made to produce. There was only one solution and Rudis Continental Butchery was established in 1983. Rudis quickly gained a reputation for unwavering quality and value for which people from far and wide would venture, to sample his delicious traditional German Wurst.

Rudi was joined by his son Stefan in 1990, whereupon leaving a career at QANTAS as an avionic engineering apprentice, began his culinary journey into smallgoods and butchery.

Upon Rudis retirement in 1995 Stefan took over the family business, and as a third generation German butcher Stefan quickly took to the art. He has been joined over the years by fantastic staff who take great pride in upholding our traditions… more…
