2023 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Montepulciano

94 Points"Of the six Angullong Fossil Hill wines I've reviewed recently, this Montepulciano stood out from the pack. It's such an attractive wine, and I adored its shape and flow. Find this.A melange of baked blueberries and plums, dark chocolate slides in underneath with a flash of mint. An array of fine spices tense up on close drawing you closer and building further intrigue. With a length that is seemingly never-ending, although I loved this release, you won't lose with any of the Fossil Hill 2023 wines in your glass."

2024 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Barbara

92 Points"Love it! This Barbera from Angullong screams for ragu and slow cooked meats. Bring on those cool nights.Immerse yourself in an ocean of blueberries supported by dark cherries and red currants with agile plums that show some depth as they sway through the core. Dark chocolate, lashings of spice and some woodsy feels add savoury appeal but the silky feels and superfine tannins elevate the moreish factor. Yes!"

2023 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Sangiovese

93 Points"Swirling the glass and absorbing the aromas takes me back to San Gimignano, that cosy Tuscan village where life is dialled back and calls for considered, composed wines like this Angullong Fossil Hill Sangiovese.Ripples of smoky and meaty things welcome you with arms wide open, but I can't help but want to fall into its embrace. Dark cherries, cola with an ocean of dense plums, it provides comfort and composure in equal doses. Fine cocoa-like tannins cling to a moreish and persistent finish. Terrific drinking and a great buy for the asking price, well played."

2023 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Tempranillo

92 Points"Bright with a lifted perfume, what a welcome mat this Angullong Fossil Hill throws out. Friday night footy or pizza night is all go with this delicious Tempranillo. Red berries, baked cherries, raspberry rope, dried red petals and chocolate-dipped strawberries combine to deliver a wine with supreme approachability and plenty of interest. Some char and roasted meats deliver a brush of savoury delish with a faint minty presence. The finish is consumed by powdery tannins that urge you to return for another dose. Yes please!"

2023 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Shiraz

91 Points"These Angullong Fossil Hill wines are wonderfully consistent across the range. The aroma profile of this Shiraz builds intrigue with an engaging pretty factor. Scents of red cherries, cherry pie, raspberry rope and rose petals reach for your favour. Ripples of blackberries and blueberries muse with a lick of charred oak. Drying, grippy and voluptuous tannins offer some flex, clinging to a sustained finish. Smart stuff that confidently sits in the "reliable" category."

2023 Angullong 'Fossil Hill' Chardonnay

92 Points"$30 for this Chardonnay?! Here is proof that you don't need to break the bank to experience a wine with serious complexity.Layered with interest, embrace barbecued nectarines, figs, pineapple husk, nougat, almonds, cashews and some Portuguese tart creaminess. Fine spices coat a persistent finish highlighted by cinnamon and ginger. Well-balanced and astutely made, this is a ripping Chardonnay for 30 bucks. Go here."
